About Behind-the Wheel Training at ALOHA
If you have chosen ALOHA for Behind-the-Wheel you have come to the right place! You have come to a school were students are respected. We are a completely private school, which means there will only be an instructor and 1 student in the car on every lesson. Each lesson is dedicated to each individual student in a 1-on-1 setting. All ALOHA instructors are Live Scan finger printed and anyone who works for ALOHA is trained by ALOHA. Behind-the-Wheel Instructors have to pass all DMV required physicals, testing and training to become a DMV Certified Driving Instructor. At ALOHA our instructor training exceeds the requirements of DMV. Combined, ALOHA instructors have over 50 years of experience training students to drive. The staff at ALOHA is respectful, patient and very thorough in training each student. A very important fact to acknowledge in regards to a driving instructor is that they like teenagers since that is the primary age group instructor’s work with. At ALOHA our staff works very well with teens. Our staff is comprised of school teachers, YMCA Directors, coaches, prior youth group leaders and people who have chosen a career in teaching teens and adults to drive. Our staff is well versed in working with teens and more importantly our staff has chosen to and enjoys working with this age group in particular.
Every student is different and each instructor can quickly adapt to the personality and skill set of each student. Not every student will learn at the same pace, we are very aware that if a student is pushed too fast too soon we risk them ever being comfortable behind-the-wheel. As a student gets better we expand our driving area, the student is very much involved with this process and our lines of communication with our students are always open! Student’s progress is documented on every lesson and information is sent home after every lesson for students to review with their parents/guardians.
Our primary objective is to teach students to become excellent defensive drivers. We want each student to acknowledge the huge responsibility that comes with getting a license. At ALOHA we are very proud to be a part of such a memorable right-of passage, we never take for granted the fact that what we are teaching will save lives.
