Love it, Love it, Love this driving school!!! I enjoyed my behind-the-wheel lessons with the instructor and owner, Karen, very much. I learned many tips from her including how to be a defensive driver. She was so nice, friendly and dedicated teacher who was always happy to explain ...Karen made the driving enjoyable and less stressful at the same time. I could not thank you enough. Will definitely recommend to others.

About Classroom Driver’s Ed. at ALOHA
If you have chosen to come to class for Driver’s Education you have come to the right place! You have come to a school were students are respected. We are in a brand new building and we love our new space! Students sit in comfortable office style chairs and work at tables; movies are watched on a flat screen TV that is mounted on the wall so it is easily viewed by all. All classroom supplies are provided to students.
ALOHA students do incredibly well when it comes to passing the DMV permit test on their first attempt. Never have I wanted my school to be a “test prep” school. As the owner of ALOHA I (Karen Murray) teach all of the Driver Education classes. I want my students to understand the information we are going through, I do not want them to simply memorize facts. I am committed to making sure a safe and comfortable environment for learning is in place in all of my classes at all times. Students are encouraged to ask question. I tell all classes that if it takes me explaining something multiple times and multiple ways to insure everyone understands the topic at hand then that is what I will do. I am very respectful of the fact that we all do not learn things the same way. ALOHA students figure out very quickly that I want them to understand the material we talk about in class so that they can more easily apply the rules of the road when it comes time to take their behind-the-wheel lessons. Understanding what is discussed in class is the foundation for keeping new drivers safe.
Drivers Education classes are held at our office located at 1857 First St. in downtown Livermore. Classroom Drivers Ed. is offered each month. To see upcoming Drivers Ed. classes, click here.
Driver’s Ed. at ALOHA covers the CA Driver Handbook and much more. In class we talk extensively about the rules of the road and I make sure to expand the lessons in regards to defensive driving, drinking and driving and distracted driving. I make certain my students have more knowledge in regards to the huge responsibility they are undertaking earning their permit and eventually their license. I do not adhere to the method of teaching that is fear based…..in my experience this does not work with teenagers. I take very seriously the responsibility of providing these young people with an abundance of knowledge to aid them in making better decisions. I encourage them to put their brain to work so that logic and common sense are in place when they earn the privilege to drive.
Once students have completed their driver’s ed. class they are issued a certificate of completion. Once a student is 15 ½ (or older) and has completed driver’s ed. and is enrolled in behind-the-wheel they are eligible to take the permit test at DMV. Once a permit is obtained then the student is eligible to make an appointment for their first behind-the-wheel lesson with ALOHA. For information on behind-the wheel click here.
